Native to the rocky hillsides of southern Europe, this plant thrives in well-drained, acidic soils and is particularly valued for its drought tolerance and ability to stabilize slopes and prevent erosion. ‘Tidepool Sky Blue’ is notable for its superior heat tolerance and longer bloom period compared to other Lithodora cultivars, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, borders, and container plantings. Its striking blue flowers provide a rare and vivid splash of color in the garden, attracting pollinators such as bees. This cultivar has gained recognition in horticultural circles for combining hardiness with exceptional floral performance, reflecting the plant’s historic use in Mediterranean landscapes and its adaptation to modern garden needs.
