Description
Chrysanthemum × morifolium ‘Danielle Purple,’ commonly known as the Danielle Purple Garden Mum, is a striking perennial renowned for its vibrant, rich purple blooms that add bold color to late-season gardens. This hybrid chrysanthemum cultivar features dense, rounded flower heads composed of numerous petals, typically blooming in late summer through fall, making it a popular choice for extending garden interest into the cooler months. Originating from complex hybridization efforts to improve flower form, color intensity, and plant vigor, this garden mum demonstrates excellent disease resistance and adaptability across various USDA hardiness zones, particularly thriving in full sun and well-drained soils. Its compact, bushy growth habit, combined with a long-lasting floral display, makes it ideal for borders, containers, and cut flower production. Danielle Purple is part of a broader effort to develop garden chrysanthemums that combine traditional beauty with landscape versatility, and it has been recognized in horticultural circles for its ornamental value and performance in seasonal color trials.
